I meant to write this a few days ago before a new year started, but time got away from me. The title of the post says it all. I want to thank you all for visiting the site this year and continuing to send me links, comments, and suggestions. The site wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the Iron Chef fan community. Almost twice as many people visited the site this year compared to last year. A big part of that was the increased interest generated by something I never expected to see: the first new Japanese episodes of Iron Chef in almost 10 years. And a special thanks goes out to those of you who have sent a contribution to the site. (I can’t say I couldn’t do it without you, but it certainly makes it a lot easier. 😉 )
Here’s to hoping 2013 will bring more excitement from Kitchen Stadium.

It has come to my attention that Fuji TV is airing the first six episodes from the very first season (1993) of Ryouri no Tetsujin on the channel Fuji One during the month of November. As most of you know, although there were only 10 episodes during the first season, only one of them has been seen outside of Japan. (Ishinabe vs Borie – Chicken) If there is any way someone with a connection in Japan can get these episodes recorded, it will be HUGE for the Iron Chef fan community around the world.
Original Iron Chef on Japanese TV
I’ve had a Youtube channel set up for a long time, but I never took the time to upload any episodes. (I know a lot of episodes from this site have been uploaded by other users.) I will start adding episodes to Youtube as I add them to this site.
Go to the Iron Chef Collection channel on Youtube.
There is also a link to the channel in the sidebar.
I noticed the other day that a milestone download was approaching. This evening, the 300,000th file was downloaded from the Iron Chef Collection. Thank you to everyone who has ever downloaded an episode for helping me reach that nice round number. 🙂
Look for more episodes going up later tonight, including an episode featuring a milestone challenger in Kitchen Stadium, to help us get started on the next 100K.

Four years ago, it all got started with that post. The Iron Chef Collection launched with, at that time, about half of the Food Network episodes and none of the Japanese ones. Now, it is the largest collection of Iron Chef videos anywhere on the internet. I will be adding many episodes, both subbed and unsubbed, to the collection for your viewing pleasure this month. I’m sure Chairman Kaga would be proud to see his dream of Kitchen Stadium living on.

Hi everybody,
I got a request in my inbox today:
“May I request that you post a site list, or at least some very educated guesses, of the best Iron Chef Japan episodes? I’d like to introduce my friends to the ones with the most creative battles and wittiest commentary.”
Well? Let’s see if we can’t come up with a list of the best for this gentleman. Post your choices in the comments, and I will add them to this main post.
