Thanks to the sharp eyes of our visitors, some mistakes have been brought to our attention regarding some of our past Episodes of the Week posts. This time, we go back and pick up a few episodes we failed to include in our lists the first time.
Overtime Battles – One of our earlier EotW themes was Overtime Battles. It seems that a few OT battles slipped past us. While we can attribute two of them to the fact that we were only listing downloadable episodes when we first started (503/504, 544/545), one available OT battle was completely missed.
Tuna Battles – I missed a couple of episodes that week because I didn’t realize that the theme fish was considered tuna.

Hopefully, enough people out there know about the song by Bread from the early 70’s to make this Episodes of the Week title seem not quite so strange. If you haven’t figured it out by now, the Episodes of the Week theme this week is young animal theme ingredients.
I was looking through the list of episodes available to be added to the Iron Chef Collection Video Database for this week when I noticed something rather unusual. Iron Chef Italian Masahiko Kobe only fought 23 battles in Kitchen Stadium. However, he faced challengers with the name Sakai 3 times in a span of 11 battles. (To the best of my knowledge, none of the challengers named Sakai were related to Iron Chef French Hiroyuki Sakai.) This week’s Episodes of the Week theme is “How many Sakais does it take to beat a Kobe?” You’ll have to watch to find out if any of these three challengers has what it takes to defeat an Iron Chef.
(Sorry to disappoint all you Hiroyuki Sakai fans who expected to see Iron Chef French featured this week. I’ll do my best to make sure he is well represented next week.)

Shigeru Miyamoto never made an appearance on Iron Chef, but his most famous creation would have been right at home as a judge on the episodes featured in this week’s Episodes of the Week. (For those of you who do not know, Shigeru Miyamoto is the designer who created Mario for Nintendo.) This week’s episodes of the week theme is Mushrooms. I don’t remember any of the judges suddenly growing larger or gaining an extra life after eating any of these mushrooms, but I’ll probably watch the episodes again just to make sure. 🙂
